Day 01: Iquitos – Jungle Lodge

Departure between 8:00 am/ 8:30 am
Morning reception from your hotel in Iquitos in a private car or minivan (depending on the size of the group).
Travel south from Iquitos by road for 1 hour and 45 minutes (approx.) until reaching the city of Nauta. On the way you will receive a brief description of the city of Iquitos, its surroundings and some of its main attractions.
Arrival in the city of Nauta and departure in a typical pamacari boat. Navigation along the main rivers Marañon, Amazon and Ucayali for 3 hours until reaching the Yarapa River, where our Lodge is located. During the tour we will enjoy beautiful exotic landscapes and picturesque riverside villages, we will also have the possibility of seeing river dolphins (gray and pink).
Arrival at the Jungle Lodge. Our staff will welcome you. A short explanation of the rules governing the sustainability of the Lodge and its surroundings will allow you to better understand the ways to make your stay and participation in eco-tourism activities more rewarding.
Lunch, immediately after lunch your private room will be arranged according to the room type you have selected.
In the afternoon we set off on a walking expedition through the primary forest to observe wildlife, in the area we will observe the flora and fauna of the river banks. Keep an eye out for birds, especially herons (such as the crowned egret or the snowy egret) and kingfishers.
Night walk in search of spiders, snakes, lizards, frogs or rodents, listening to the different sounds of nocturnal animals.
We will spend the night at the Jungle Lodge. We will sleep in single beds with mosquito nets.

Día 02: Jungle Lodge – Selva.

Nos levantaremos temprano para observar el amanecer en la selva tropical y luego iniciaremos nuestra expedición. Estaremos atentos a la presencia de monos y perezosos. Después, nos subiremos a una canoa y exploraremos las riberas del río, siempre atentos a los movimientos y sonidos para poder ver la fauna en sus rutinas matutinas junto al río.

Seguido probaremos la pesca deportiva artesanal de pirañas, con el mismo material que utiliza el hombre de la selva con fines de subsistencia. El guía te instruirá, te ayudará y te proporcionará todo el equipo necesario. Si eres hábil, incluso podrás atrapar Acarahuazu (pez Oscar), Fasaco (trahira común) entre otros

Observación de delfines rosados (Inia geoffrensis) y delfines grises o tucuxis. Esta es tu oportunidad de saltar al río Pucate y nadar cerca a ellos.

Caminata por la selva virgen donde podremos observar la flora y fauna de la Amazonía. Recorrido a pie para ver la Lupuna, uno de los árboles más grandes de la selva amazónica.

Expedición nocturna en canoa para buscar y ver caimanes blancos y negros (grandes lagartos de río).

Day 03: Jungle Lodge – Iquitos.

Early morning canoe excursion to awaken your senses. We will go bird watching. This is the best time to see wild birds in their own habitat along the riverbank and within the jungle.

Excursion to the Natural Monkey Island, an area of their natural habitat where a variety of primate species gather in search of food. In this place you can photograph them up close and even touch some.

At an appropriate time we begin our way back, stopping in the community of Puerto Miguel to stretch our legs and have the opportunity to contribute to the community by purchasing their handmade crafts if you choose to do so.
